Now that he has Kethra bandaged up and has made sure both companions are still alive, he wants to smack himself. He completely forgot about Kethra's wand. He hopes she won't mind him using it.

He digs through her stuff and finds the wand. It takes him a second or two to remember the command word she spoke. He then uses it once on each of them to help hurry their healing along. He also uses it on Jesse as she is not in the best shape.

Do you need some healing too?

His hair is brown with streaks of copper highlights through it and hangs down to just touch his shoulders. It normally has a bit of a wild windblown look to it. His eyes are a medium green which reminds most people of the color of leaves. He wears studded leather armor that has been dyed a camouflage pattern of browns and greens. His cloak is held closed by a brooch the shape of a silver arrow with green fletching. Aside from his dagger on his belt, the only weapon he carries is his longbow, which looks a bit thicker and sturdier than most bows.

Kethra awakens, her wounds closing over under the bandages until most of them are gone. Looking around the Seeker sees the small party gathered under the tree. "What happened?"

Scholar by nature and librarian by training; Kethra is a bibliophile, almost as passionate about books as she is about her goddess and the magic that Mystra brings to the world. Sometimes tending to be a know-it-all, the young Illuskan often has to moderate her superior-seeming attitude by being an affable person and an able negotiator.

There's no questioning the blessings of the divine as Power surges through one after the other of the party and the burning sensation of wounds being mended, followed swiftly by the cool sensation of relief, leaves no question that a higher power is at work. Kethra is restored almost to full health in moments and Aeruiel and Jesse feel they can breath easier.

Max is also retuned to consciousness by the Power, but he is still clearly weak and physically infirm.

Jessie feels a slight sense of relief as she manages to drag her bloodied body into Rossal's home with her loaded bow still in hand, along with the rest of the party who also make it back to the massive oak tree growing up and out of the ruins.

Nonetheless, the diminutive rogue also knows that the kobolds or other creatures could possibly take advantage of the group's current state of poor health and, thus, Jessie hides behind a nearby boulder where she can look through the room's doorway out into the ruins so the group cannot be surprised.

However, when the tiny Halfling receives a small bit of healing from Rodan's use of Kethra's wand, Jessie instantly perks up as her health-related disability is lifted allowing her to finally act normally, even though her wounds are still seeping.

Maintaining her vigil watching the perimeter security for the group, Jessie keeps her eyes and ears focused on the surrounding environment and then briefly says in a lowered voice, "Thank you for allowing us the use of your home, Rossal."

Jessie Tosscobble III's AppearanceJessie is small standing at 2 foot 8 inches and weighing a mere 27 pounds. As such, the lass intentionally keeps her brown hair long to cover her halfling features, which allows the rogue to pass herself off as a small humanoid or even young human or half-elven child when convenient or necessary.

Dressed dark purple clothing, which is overlaid with attractive black leather accoutrements, Jessie keeps the paraphernalia of her 'profession' secreted upon her person, and especially the authorities, except when in use.

Her friendly blue eyes and warm, sincere smile are disarming and allow the lass to paint a picture of a young girl who is completely unintimidating by all appearances, an assumption often made by others which suits her well and which she actively cultivates.

To promote this look of youth or innocence, most of Jessie's weapons, alchemical doodads, pack, and other equipment are kept hidden under her clothing and also by her large heavy dark green cloak.

Glad to see that everyone is awake and going to survive, for now at least. He looks for a place where he can try to hide, but still keep an eye on the entrance.

Kethra, not sure if you have any more healing for today, but a few of us could use some more if you do. Then we should probably camp here for the night.

With Kethra's continued ministrations, you are all soon feeling much better, with even Maximilian able to rise a stretch. The general consensus seems to be that you need some rest and so you settle in under the majestic oak, Rossal's silent communications assuring you that friends who seek to frighten away the scaly ones are welcome to rest under his tree, though he still does not show himself.

A few hours pass and it is soon afternoon. You have gotten mostly comfortable under the tree or in some corner, when around the edge of the shattered wall of the chamber, from within the ruins, an ant, fully the length of Rodin and almost as tall as Jesse, moves quickly into sight at the chamber entrance, pausing as its mandibles chirp open and shut and its antenna, the length of a longsword, move around sensing something unseen!

Rodin gives a small curse as the giant ant comes into view.

Easy big guy. We mean you no harm. Just sitting here taking a rest. Why don't you move along and find food somewhere else?

Not sure if he can even be understood by an ant, he softly speaks over his shoulder to the others.

Anyone got an extra weapon I can borrow? I now see the folly of relying on just one. But mine is back in the hole with the kobolds.

Leaning against the rock while keeping watch over the party, Jessie had begun to daydream during the relaxing calm and the warmth of the day until Rodin's voice rouses her back on alert. When the tiny Halfling sees her colleague attempting to speak and reason with the creature, this gives the rogue pause as she raises her bow and arrow.

Drawing the bowstring of her Masterwork Short Bow tight, the diminutive rogue's finger twitches as she prepares to loose the deadly projectile at the ant if it begins to move in any direction except out, firing at the giant insect's first twitch of such movement and definitely before it can take a single full step toward any of her colleagues.

Jessie has a readied action on a hair trigger to attack the ant with her bow as soon as it begins to move in any direction other than out of the chamber.

When he opened his eyes and saw that he wasn't in Mystra's halls, Maximilian suspected that they had survived, and the wounds he could still feel let him know that they had only barely survived, at least in his case.

After a few hours of rest and more of Lady Kethra's use of the Power, he was feeling well enough to stand on his own, the wounds now reduced to only a handful of scratches.

The sight of the large ant caught his attention, and at Rodin's request, Maximilian draws a cold iron dagger, offering it to the wood elf, himself preparing a battlestrike for the ant, should Rodin's attempt to shoo the creature away prove unsuccessful.

AppearanceMaximilian is a tall, slender, bookish young man with slightly tan skin and the brown hair and eyes common among Chondathans. His clothing is simple and understated, but very well-tailored and well-made, as would befit a noble who isn't attempting to advertise wealth to others. He wears a high-collared, brown woolen overcoat over white collared shirts (often frilled collared shirts). The rest of his clothing is simple, functional, and well-tailored, and he keeps them immaculately clean with prestidigitation. The ant's antenna perk up at the sound of Rodin, but if it understand him or his tone, it gives no sign, instead, it begins to move towards the large oak, oblivious to the threat its in.

Jesse's suddenly released arrow flies true, however, it find the large ant's chitin too tough to pierce and bounces off it, snapping. This immediately draws the ant's attention from its task and it moves towards the small rogue!

With an arcane word, a battlestrike flies out from Maximilian's outstretched hand and sinks unerringly into the large insect!

Rodin accepts the bow from Aeruiel. He takes a step back as the others attack the ant and then fires an arrow at it. His aim is true and the arrows sinks deeply into the ant, slipping between two plates of it chitin.
