Colin Posted July 26, 2022 Clone Share Posted July 26, 2022 Figure there have to be a few others running 3D printers around here (or folks contemplating getting one)! What have folks been printing lately? Getting the ball rolling: I got some tool storage printed and added to the side of my Lack enclosure for my Prusa MK3S, a Honeycomb Storage Wall style remix. LupineRose Posted August 12, 2022 Clone Share Posted August 12, 2022 And thus, the pile to paint only grows larger with each passing day.
Anthr4xus Posted August 12, 2022 Clone Share Posted August 12, 2022 Have you seen this Kickstarter? It includes 120+ very finely detailed mini STLs. Some of them are pretty specific (like the bust versions of several), but many could see repeated use. I've been debating backing as my printer is currently still sitting in a box and I don't know when I will get it setup. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mammothfactory/mammoth-chronicles-vol1-8-epic-miniatures-and-adventures/description

LupineRose Posted August 13, 2022 Clone Share Posted August 13, 2022 I've officially ran out of room on the terabyte external hard drive. I have no place to store them for the time being.
hoverfrog Posted August 17, 2022 Clone Share Posted August 17, 2022 Have you tried printing dice?
Colin Posted August 17, 2022 Author Clone Share Posted August 17, 2022 I’ve printed dice for novelty before, but that’s about it. Could be done using resin printing to get actual balanced dice, but I don’t want to deal with cleaning them up after the printing. Too lazy. 🙂
Colin Posted January 1, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted January 1, 2023 So I got sick of dealing with the X-Acto knife box, and designed a gridfinity system-based hobby knife and blade storage holder, complete with press fit holes in the bottom for 6 x 2 mm disc magnets to retain it in a gridfinity grid if desired. The stl and a parameter-driven F3D (Fusion 360 file) are available here on Printables.com for anyone that wants to print one or modify and print one, since plenty of us do stuff with minis and modeling. Also, video primer on the gridfinity system for those unfamiliar!
Amy Posted January 1, 2023 Clone Share Posted January 1, 2023 Just one sitting on a desk would be fine, too. So smart and compact! Love it!
GleefulNihilism Posted April 18, 2023 Clone Share Posted April 18, 2023 Howdy. Kind of new, checking things out. So this is a bad boy I’m a little proud of. I know putting up a dice tower a little cliché, but…
Colin Posted August 7, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted August 7, 2023 Nothing wrong with a dice tower!

Colin Posted August 22, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted August 22, 2023 Started working on a configurable French cleat setup so I can quickly design and print tool holders for hand and power tools. The first step is a load tester to ensure the printed concept is strong enough! Relevant Print Parameters Infill: 50% gyroid Perimeters: 4 Filament: Atomic Perfect Orange PLA Pictures & Project Description Initial design had a square nut insert concept to hold the pieces together. So the insert pockets in iteration 1: Not so great. It was a pain to remove the support material and easy to tear out the back of the pocket. Iteration 2! Using 1/4-20 socket head cap screws into threaded holes, this is the load tester. I need to ensure thread tear out under load isn’t a concern, so I’m going to tie some paracord to dumbbell weight plates and progressively hang more until I hit the max test load or the threads tear out. Shooting for a Factor of Safety of 3, which in this case is 3x the mass of my 7-1/4” Milwaukee circular saw. Once I confirm whether it meets my needs, it’s on to some fancy holder design! SithShrink Posted September 19, 2023 Clone Share Posted September 19, 2023 I recently upgraded to a small print farm. I got an Ender 3 Pro for Christmas last year and got hooked. Not in the video is a Elegoo Mars 3 Pro resin printer. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/s1dotih8tmzb548xc5gtd/export_1691201942665.MOV?rlkey=uv8ovj7ft02enrvx1dqbard8t&dl=
Colin Posted December 14, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted December 14, 2023 I am slowly getting my new Prusa XL assembled, but on the plus side it finally arrived! Hopefully I can start calibrating this weekend. Assembly Pics (and my thoughts) Thus Far Nice heavy duty packaging, and the bottom box was a whopping 70 lbs (31.75 kg)! Inside boxes unpacked, with a rather large bag of assembly gummy bears ready to go. Back two large boxes (and the one on top) are the printer and components, front five are the five extruder units. Assembly part 1 complete, Z axis motors and frame uprights installed. Screen installed and wires routed underneath. I was really impressed with the routing method! Routing wires through the extrusion profile is nothing new, but the snap in covers to guide the Z-axis stepper motors and the corner cover for the screen wires were a nice touch, along with the extrusion covers that keep all the wiring in place. Where things are at as of last night, got the X/Y axes frame mounted, and the Z axis linear rails have their top screws secured into the frame arms as well.
