  1. A Great Upheaval Rain continues to pelt the outer surface of the inn. You stand in the hall Feeling pressured, Kella remains silent for a short while. She spends the time contemplating what she can and cannot share with you without putting herself in further danger. Shifting her eyes away from the majority of you to face the wall she begins rubbing her arm with the opposite hand. During this time spent in contemplation Gelfin gleans some important information. Kella is a member of a larger faction but does not mention the name, she mentions the name 'Xolkin' twice who appears to be either a family member or lover, it is unclear. Xolkin is likely an associate of the same faction that Kella is in, and it seems you are unlikely to get more information from her due to her ties to this organization. She fears reprisal more than your immediate threat in the hallway. Her silence ends with a simple but brief answer to Mar'che'chok; "I.. cannot answer that" and a follow up answer for Gelfin who has spied on her thoughts unbeknownst to her. Now cut off from the rest of the skeletons she bides her time by holding position, occasionally flicking her wrist to continue the rotations of her flail. Although you are a stranger to the snake on the table it does not seem bothered by your presence. You stand in the hall Still interested in open dialogue Kella continues to answer your questions. She remains neutral in the hallway with no indication that she has intentions of fighting the party. Her arms remain crossed while she leans up against the left side of the hallway. "I did mention I came to assist the temple, I did not think you would need to know my full life story.. and no I haven't loot anything in the city aside from a few rations and maybe a bottle of alcohol to pass the time" Pausing for a moment she thinks of what else to share. "I don't see why my being a spellcaster is important, I am sure you have a few yourself." Weather & Effects Weather: Indoors, No penalty. Time: Night, Darkvision.   5. A Great Upheaval Rain continues to pelt the outer surface of the inn You stand in the hall The conversation shifts from friendly banter to a daring attempt to investigate unabated. Unsure of how best to proceed without giving away her intentions Kella closes her eyes while simultaneously taking a deep breath. There seems to be a pause in her responses to the party; tension beginning to fill the tight corridor. Exhaling after a moment of thought she addresses all of you. "I have no weapon on me, go and look if you must" Kella's Room You open the door to Kella's room and the first thing you notice is the pungent smell that comes with living in squalor. The room is dimly lit by a candle sitting to the left of a bed frame located at the centre of the room; the bed appears lived in with sheets tossed. It is a small room with roughly five feet of space on either side of the bed and fifteen feet across. With the bed taking up ten feet of space at the centre there is only enough space for three of you to comfortably fit within the room. Directly to the left of the bed is a table with a note. It sits directly beside the candle that lights the room and beneath it; a small green snake has coiled for warmth. The room has a slight chill due to the damage to the roof and it is quite obvious that there is a crushed section of the ceiling to your right. Some of the damage appears to have been patched in some way from within the room, likely an attempt by Kella to maintain some heat while she awaited rescue. The damage is consistent with what you have seen from outside and likely travels all the way to the bottom floor where the boulder is embed in the floor. To the right of the bed is a small chamber pot with a lid tightly sealing its contents. Kella also appears to have a small backpack set along the wall to the right. It is slumped in the corner behind the door tucked slightly out of view. The room is otherwise quite barren, not unexpected considering the size of the town and likely revenue the tavern might draw in from the locals. There is a single window just above the bed with wooden shudders located on the inside of the room. They appear closed and locked by a single piece of iron tapered around a small knob. You don't think the light from the candle could escape from where you are standing so there is little to worry about in that regard. Kella chimes in as you enter, briefly stating that the snake is her familiar. She politely asks you not to harm it if possible as it is her only companion on her journey. Valen begins to twirl her flail with a flick of her wrist, prepping for a strike against the nearest target. Her facial expression turning to that of a focused fighter; looking for opening.   7. I know you mentioned it already in character but lets just assume you had suspicions and now you are sure she's up to something she isn't telling you. lol I only had so much prepped, the book doesn't tell me what you are or are not supposed to know.
  8. Something about Kella doesn't quite add up. Her story seems to have some gaps that make you believe she is lying. Firstly, she seems quite determined to keep you from approaching her. Secondly, she does not want you to enter her room. There may be evidence of something she wishes to hide in there. Third, While she does not appear to be undead she has made no mention of the bell tolling for what was likely an entire day and she has already admit to being interested in assisting in the temple.

Mar'che'chok Go ahead and make me a Sense Motive check either in OOC or here in character. You stand in the hall Kella seems to be slightly bewildered by the notion that she is potentially undead. Opening her eyes she looks down at Mar'che'chok and wonders what sort of examination might have brought upon such a conclusion. "I am not undead, though I suppose I haven't had a proper bath in a week.. sorry" removing her hand from her chin she returns to crossing her arms, cheeks turning slightly pink. "I can't say what might have dropped the rocks from the sky, but your suspecting rodent friend is likely correct." Weather & Effects Weather: Indoors, No penalty. Time: Night, Darkvision.   11. Hey, I tried clicking on your sheet to see what the power was that you are using to check the room but I think when they had that attack on the website a while ago it broke links. I can't access your sheet, are you detecting magic or is it some form of class skill?

She examines them from afar, standing ten feet away to avoid any potential strike; aware that skeletons do not simply pose themselves. Still armed with her flail and shield if there does not appear to be a threat in the room after examining the skeletons she will walk toward the opposite door (B6) standing at the ready to press forward into the unexplored corridors. If the skeletons appear magical in nature Valen will swing her weapon at the nearest intact skeletal body to strike preemptively. EffectValen has cast Magic Weapon on her Flail. You are welcome to rest in my room but unless you have a change of clothing it will do nothing to ail the chill from the storm. There is no place for a fire you see." Placing a free hand on her chin she seems to consider something, tilting her head in the process with eyes closed. "With the gnolls below dispatched we could barricade the front and back doors to give you more space. In addition with the hole in the ceiling you could potentially light a small fire, the smoke might draw in gnolls though.. they have an acute sense smell" Weather & Effects Weather: Indoors, No penalty.
