There were only three from the Ana Kai. A long-limbed, shimmering woman with scales up her throat and sides. A tall man who was ornately dressed for the occasion, his weapons hanging off his hips, thin crescent-shaped blades that looked interesting enough. The Ana Kai held their tongue, quiet and out of the way. Still, there was a gift basket set at Ota Beyr Brejna Honorlund's feet, and there was a nod in acceptance at the welcome.   They listened to the bickering, the anxiety that laced the get-together. The woman, Shyr, crossed her arms as she listened. The man simply bowed his head, as if in respect for the looming danger.   Shyr finally spoke. "Metal men...if they are like any men, do not hold hunt for no reason. Perhaps they wish a resource you have, or wanted your lands. What of this man they pursue?"

Beware, beware, the children of the Sea. "Oh, child. You will have the world." Shiobyn's voice swept over the sound of crashing waves. Cradling her successor in her arms, she stepped to the edge of the sea. The white foam kissed her knees as the child was raised slowly to the ethereal moonlight. "All of this. All for you."   Her gaze traced the rhythm of the swelling waves. Each crest and trough marked the vast expanse they could have. A smile sliced through her face, the eerie glow mirrored in her sharpened eyes and teeth. Teeth and ambitions were bared in the night.   The Ana Kai assembled on the shore, watching the waves. A slow murmur of uncertainty, silhouetted against the sea. Their skin, bronzed from the sunlight, bore the stark contrast of white paint - intricate markings that were carefully applied with a brush. With the cry of Shiobyn's joy, their spears tilted forward. The tips reflecting the moonlight were like stars fallen to earth on the shore, the coastline crimson with bonfires.   As Shiobyn swayed hypnotically under the moonlight, the Ana Kai couldn't shake off a creeping sense of unease. The fervent promises, made with zeal, sparked quiet whispers of worry. The Ocean Calls - Year One of the Ana Kai The spirits of old sing a haunting refrain, A melody echoing through the watery domain. In a bid to explore and sequester safety for her people, they begin to explore outside of the cove and learn more... of Faith and War. What dread approaches?   The Utui C  The Utui are a race of cove-based merfolk, known for their unique ability to grow gills and fins when submerged in water, enabling them to dive into deeper waters. Their villages are mostly built in coastal areas, as they moor their floating villages in calm cove waters. This network of interconnected communities lead to a deeply familial connection and a deep connection to the nature around them. They worship Gods of the Ocean and the Land, as well as incorporating practices to worship the Five Moons; Dark One, Bright One, Winding Rose, Yolym, and the Little Sister. Despite their reliance on the ocean, the Utui have adapted to life on land in places, choosing to live on mountainsides when there is not a direct access to the ocean. Their history is often woven into tapestries, and there is a focus on more visual methods of keeping history, though as the Utui say, "From the waves we rise, and to the waves we return.   Lupine's Library Just a place to put random notes to myself on homebrewed classes, systems, magic spells and whatnot. As well pretty stuff for applications and character templates so that I have somewhere to find them. If you include any of my homebrew stuff in your games poke me, I would love to see them.

I've officially ran out of room on the terabyte external hard drive. I have no place to store them for the time being.

And thus, the pile to paint only grows larger with each passing day.
