  1. Karin inhales through her nose, looking at the bridge as she nods slowly. This wasn't that bad. The bridge looked to be in place with a fair amount of proficiency, and she didn't want or need to second-guess her crewmates here. Following behind A'Kora, she tries to replicate the Vulcan's crossing movements, a youthful trust of a familiar species helping to guide her across. Each footstep placed carefully...slowly...one by one...   And with a last quick hop, Karin stumbles to the other side, grinning breathlessly as she looks over at her companions on the other end of the bridge. "My, but that was exciting!"
  2. Karin's eyes go wide at the sight of the creatures shambling out of the brush, and moreso at their assault. With a worried look on her face, she flicks her eyes over the situation quickly. The rocks were dangerous, but somewhat less so that even a misunderstood, misaimed phaser. Taking a cue from her comrade and falling back towards Hesk's position, she levels her phaser and takes a shot at the one still wielding Starfleet-issue weaponry, wincing slightly as she does. She hadn't joined Starfleet to fire on the unfamiliar, after all.   OOCUsing the Move minor action to take cover along with Hesk, firing a phaser at the humanoid that was holding the weapon backwards, set to stun. Not spending anything on any additional tasks or dice, that Momentum could be very important.
  3. Ensign Sorenstam steps out and onto the surface as she nods to Hesk, taking up a flanking position near T'Mirras. She exhales out through her nose, a breath she hadn't realized she was holding in, and lets her shoulders relax slightly. Her eyes flick about the surroundings, patting herself down as if she expects to find pockets on her uniform. "We need to make contact as soon as we can, that way we can start formulating an evacuation plan. Is there any way we could rig up a transceiver of some sort, maybe using a tricorder?" She was good at the theory of communications, and had a fair amount of skill with an entire starship's array in front of her, but improvisation in the field like this was a bit more out of her league.
  4. "Ensign Karin Sorenstam, communications officer," the human replies, nodding to the others on the shuttle. "I'm certainly content with the proposed arrangement. I wouldn't mind keeping an ear out if we make contact with the science team, perhaps we can figure out what caused the distress signal." She adjusts the cuffs of her uniform, looking around at the assembled group. With three Vulcans in the group, she suspected that this mission would be running on a very hierarchical basis. Logic before anything, which was...a choice. At least she knew how to reason her emotions out, she'd had plenty of experience with that growing up.
  5.   Born: April 11, 2351, Federation Embassy, ShiKahr, Vulcan (legally considered to have been born on Earth) Personality: Karin is, despite her upbringing on Vulcan, a warm and empathetic young woman, always eager to learn the interests and hobbies of others. She believes that even as a Starfleet officer, her first obligation is to uphold the values of the Federation, most prominently those of peaceful cooperation and a sense of discovery and adventure. The galaxy may be full of dangers, but a danger is often a friend you haven't gotten to know yet. She firmly believes that diplomacy, trust, and understanding can be more powerful than an armada of battlecruisers, and intends to live up to those ideals during her time in service. First Posting: Karin is due for assignment aboard the U.S.S. Stagg, a Nova-class science vessel intended to conduct survey missions and reinforce diplomatic ties along the Neutral Zone.   Karin_Sorenstam-sta-character.pdf
