  1. Upon closer inspection, the Tulwar seems a might situational. Now upon re-reading it, you can take the Tulwar in addition to a Combat Knife, at your preference. Balanced would give you +10 to Parry Tests, so with a Tulwar you could theoretically do two Parries then make an attack (or more aptly Parry and another Reaction like Dodge, then attack). Assuming of course you've gone Defensive Stance. But all this is offset by admittedly low damage. 1D10 plus your Strength Modifier's not bad, but the Primitive Quality means that even against basic Ork Boys you'd be getting a good 12 points of that damage shaved off with each attack. On its own it lends itself to a weird defensive style of melee, but with a combat knife or other melee in the other hand you could make something work there. Just my read.
  2. Health: 2 | Movement: 35 | Toughness: 11 | Evasion: 11 | Cleverness: 16 | Willpower: 18 "Be pretty bad at my job if I didn't at least get the CliffNotes version of an intel report." Fixer shrugs nonchalantly at Lady Jaye's comment, then falls in with the others as they move towards the auditorium. He is silent for much of Duke's presentation, finding no need for witty retorts at this juncture. All this sounds like a the 9 to 5 at The Company by his estimation, though odds are that Fixer'll end up getting pulled for wet-works around here. That had always been Special Activities wheelhouse, not the sort of thing a case officer gets tapped for. But if that's what Uncle Sam needs, who was Fixer to deny him? Once Duke's finished, Fixer gives him a thumbs up. "All good on my end boss. I'm married to my job or... whatever people who are terrified of commitment say to squeeze out of sayin' that. Little surprised that the Air Force isn't getting repped among the higher ups though. What, they forget to RSVP then get told to shove-off?" OOC
  3. Yeah I did a re-roll of Agility and got 34 instead of something better than 35, so that’s where that comes from. Yeah I see where you’re coming from with regards to the wording of Mighty Lineage (makes more sense in the context of say, a Black Templar with Sigismund’s own gene seed running through him). Then again those Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus who look like Horus could be in the same boat. Might be a mixture of that and natural leadership ability?
  4. Concern crosses Bróin's face as the implications of this little mystery blossom in his mind. Pocketing the silver, save for one, when no one is looking - no reason to waste good silver he reckons - Bróin then stands up and dusts the dirt from his pants. "Scavenger orcs. I would wager they've just done a pass through the fortress when they gutted each other - no more than a few days before our arrival. Nothing out of the ordinary there... this, however, very much is." Opening his palm, Bróin shows the others the silver penny he had left out. "I have seen coinage like this before. Minted in the Woodland Realm, these pennies are typically used to conduct business with outsiders. Now I would never countenance the idea of any in Thranduil's court doing business with the Orcs, but the Woodland Realm has opened up to trade in recent years. Meaning-" "Some other treacherous bastard is! Ohhh, the gall! I'll pluck out his eyes when we find 'em!" Vara caws loudly, perhaps too loudly given the environs they're in, her disgust at such treachery apparent in her speech. Bróin clears his throat before continuing. "Vara isn't far off there. Doubtful it's someone from amongst the Woodmen or the Beornings - such people prefer barter to commerce after all - which leaves the Men of Dale or my kin at Erebor or the Iron Hills. Even then the latter is doubtful, for even years later few Dwarves are inclined to conduct business with Elves." OOC Current Momentum: +10 Vara's Health: 2/2 Pocketing the coins for +1 Wealth.
  5. Here you are putting the Night Lords to shame. 👍 It's true that against a Horde of Orks fear wouldn't do anything, but I'd argue it could still be useful when engaged against small groups of Orks. At Fear 3 the Difficulty of the associated Willpower Test is Hard (-20). You'd need at least 3 Orks total within 10 metres of each other to counteract the Difficulty there. More pointedly though base level Ork Boys have rather low Willpower - same even with Meganobs. So you'd need at least a group of say 7 Orks to have odds over 50 of passing the Fear Test, and again they'd need to be in relatively close proximity. I don't know how prevalent Hordes will be relative to standard enemies, or how powerful base level Orks will be, but in my estimation I think you could still make this work. On an unrelated note - if you're interested - White Scars can sub out their Combat Knife for a Dueling Tulwar. Deals about the same damage but has the Balanced and Primitive Qualities. More importantly you can make a single Standard Attack as a Free Action with the weapon when using the Defensive Stance Action.
  6. Wanting to spare themselves the headache of dealing with Qabarat's legal red tape over a few dead Goblins, the crew decides to make like a Bantrid and get rolling. Lucky for them Akari is able to spy a side street nearby, and with a few quick maneuvers he guides the cargo rig around a few vehicles and down the street before the police arrive. After a few minutes the crew has reached the spaceport and - thanks to Akari's casual driving and some sweet talking of the warder at the gate - return to BD514 without incident. The ship picks up their arrival, notifying "Morgan" in turn. Some of the crew has certainly earn their keep today, but there's still work to be done. Now comes another bout of cargo transfer.... OOC - To get this out of the way first, the cargo hold isn't large enough to accommodate the entire extended trailer, so driving the rig into the hold and parking it there isn't possible. - This works like the initial loading of the cargo at Prat's; a starting time of 16 hours to move everything, but the two hovercarts'll cut that to 8 hours, and a third worker'll cut that down to 5 hours. - Once that's done you're free to head out. It's gonna take about 2 hours to reach orbit however. - I'll need our Piloting to roll a DC 10 Piloting Check to plot a course to Akiton once everything's set. - Finally, you should discuss whether you're travelling via Standard Navigation or Drift Navigation. It'll be 1D6 days to reach Akiton via the Drift, but 1D6+2 days using conventional thrusters.
  7. So, I've got a concept I wanted to float past before I proceed forward. Essential it's an Aasimar Ex-Paladin - A Vindictive Bastard Archetype to be more precise - but with a plan to guide him back on to being a full Paladin (Some mixture of the Iomedaean Archetypes for instance). Guy lost the faith essential and fell in with a bad crowd, but the events of the AP may give him a chance to redeem himself and become the hero the Crusade needs. Thoughts/Comments?

  9. Health: 2 | Movement: 35 | Toughness: 11 | Evasion: 11 | Cleverness: 16 | Willpower: 18 Fixer chuckles at Angel's joke, a dangerous thing with a mouth full of protein bar. After swallowing some of his snack he manages to muster up a comeback. "I know! you'd think I'd use it more. Yet here we are." He nods in approval at Falcon's answer, even as he finds the notion of a Donner Cut wishful thinking (you don't get booted from a project like that and a director's cut after all). The Joe might not have been a true movie buff like Fixer was, but he knew his stuff at the very least. More pointedly he actually took the time to answer what was essentially a joke question - Fixer appreciated that. Showed that this operation wasn't doom and gloom all the time. Sure he wasn't expecting this a party, but at least it wasn't gonna be soul-crushing either. Bones' response elicits another chuckle, but thankfully by now he's already finished off his food. "Fair enough. But hey, guess that means we're not sandwiched behind a hundred other prospects, right? Lucky me." He gives Bones a wink and disarming smile as he hobbles off. "Nos vemos por aquí, cariño." Not for nothing is Spanish called a romance language by Fixer's reckoning; suppose he owed life that much at least. A shower was just what he needed after a course like that. The soreness and tension melted away under the pressure and hot water. He takes his sweet time in the showers - his whole process of shampooing, conditioning and generally washing clocks in at around 20 minutes. Plenty of time to belt out a few singles while he works; Huntsman is treated to Fixer's renditions of Jim Croce, Elton John, and the Steve Miller Band to name a few. As to the quality well... Fixer won't be winning any AMA's for his work. His knee was good as new after that, and Fixer felt rejuvenated in his clean clothes as the scent of Zest wafted off of him. He mills about with the team for a moment, but takes Lady Jaye's hand with a smile when its offered. "Ah someone else from U.N.C.L.E eh? Don't tell me... D-J2? SIS?" Before Jaye responds however Fixer pauses and narrows his eyes, recollection on the cusp of his mind. "Wait a minute... I think I've seen you before. Or at least a picture of you on a desk somewhere. Military Intelligence after a stint with the Airborne right? Dad was from the States, Mom from Ireland? Come on, Double Jeopardy or no?" OOC Spanish into English Translation: "See you around, darling." With the options given Fixer's asking whether Lady Jaye works for the Irish (Directorate of Military Intelligence, aka D-J2) or the British (Secret Intelligence Service). Updated based on Culture roll.
  10. "Not a soul at all? Now that is odd. I would think a fortress such as this most welcoming to the servants of the Shadow. Fenbridge is not far, so would the Orcs not send a garrison?" Bróin was not learned in military matters to be sure, but one need not be a Captain of the Realm to know castles need soldiers to guard them. What then kept the Orcs from doing so? He moves slowly and steadily across the bridge alongside his comrades, his eyes locked forward so as to keep the horrors of the Dead Moat out of his site. Radagast had the right of it he wagered - they should not tarry overlong, lest the evil permeating this castle seep into their souls overmuch. Evoric's shout draws Bróin's attention. Examining the Orcs intently, the Dwarf begins to piece together the nature of what transpired between the two... OOC Current Momentum: +10 Vara's Health: 2/2 Hmmm... this smacks of a devious scheme to me, so pursuant to Trickster I'll use Shadow to Gather Information. This'll net me +2 Momentum on a hit. Strong Hit. So I guess Bróin can tell just what happened to the Orcs then.
  11. I'd say so, then the aging process slows to a crawl. The Blood Angel Dante - he's from the main series of events in M41 - is over 1,500 years old during the current metaplot. He looks to be somewhere in his 60's? Mind you most Space Marines don't live nearly that long, but you get the idea.
  12. Not a problem! I didn't really do anything fancy to be fair. Just a lot of Tables and Horizontal Lines to make it nice and organized.
  13. Yup, they don't call it grimdark for nothing. Something to bear in mind about that is Sanguinius himself. As a Primarch he has an obscenely high healing factor, so healing from blood loss or any injuries sustained from extracting is no real problem to him. I wouldn't know how much blood is used in those initiation rites, but you could definitely stretch something like that out. Of course that ritual might not be a thing in 30k either, given Sanguinius is still alive. But don't quote me on that. In a weird way it's kind of funny when you realize the Blood Angels are one of the nicer Legions; they care about baseline Humans, they do art and high culture, so on and so forth. Mind you when the alternative is a Legion who wears the flayed skin of their victims (Night Lords) or a Legion with berserker implants installed (World Eaters) the barrier's not that high. As to the pauldrons... yeah you got me there for some of them. Heightened senses and reaction time to off-set that? But yeah, rule of cool (or more aptly rule of metal) tends to reign in 40k.
