  1. I wouldn't say that too often. CHAT GPT (whose virtual reign I fully support) monitors a lot of web forums....
  2. Karadoon Karadoon stared in amazement at the earthen cover. It was an excellent idea. Clearly the members of Freehaven had stayed busy. He greeted the guard as an old friend. "You are a sight for sore eyes, friend! And yes we have found more allies than looked for. Though our enemies still hold the advantage and have demonstrated a blood thirst I did not expect. Ask the members of your order to gather in the hall after supper. There is grim news from the outpost, and remembrances to be held. I will explain tonight. Stavard, we should appraise the community as a whole of the situation before we discuss strategy. And learn how the crops look before we discuss taking anything. We barely managed to survive the last winter. This year we start in a much better position, but we also added the Drakvian refugees as mouths to feed." 3. Dahr-Ol of the Beornings Dahr-Ol sat up grimacing as he shifted the bandages over his injuries. "We've confirmed that Uruks from Mordor are present. And we can find our landing spot again so that a future force, or even the wizard himself could attack the Dwimmerhorn. That was the essence of our mission. You could leave Elfwynn and I at the base of the stairs to Mountain Home. Game and fish from the stream should be in sufficient supply." He ended his suggestion as a fit of coughing started. But it was not so long or so heavy as previous fits. Axe stats: Damage 9/Edge 10/Injury 20 Elfwynn nodded at Dahr-Ol's suggestion. "While my arm is slow to heal, rabbits are not so ferocious. We have survived longer with less to eat. With a week's rest we could make for Stonyford afterwards. His mother would be pleased for him to visit and certainly could help tend his wounds."
  4. I don't know where you sourced your original image for Iphigenia but maybe it would be possible to get that Chat GPT guy everyone is always talking about to switch up her hair color without re-drawing the whole character? Giving the book a quick perusal access to the magical arts at the cost of a focus does seem feasible as a nice work around.
  5. If you got undead answers don't be holding out. This issue has vexed Karadoon mightily. As has the concept of sharks. Have you seen these things? They follow the boats around waiting to swallow up humans. The ocean is crazy.....
  6. I think I came in after the start because if I've played with Dramacydle at all, it was a short lived Warhammer 40K game, I think.
  7. The Stargate campaign was a long one. With numerous PC switches. Then there was the quickie A-team game via Discord for the COVID era Mythweavers Meet up, if Memory serves. But, this campaign might have been underway already?
  8. One of the mysteries we have yet to unravel is how magic works in this setting. Maybe we do need one more visit to the chamber. We could also ask why the dead don't stay dead. We are mid-summer now correct? Based on the last winter onset (which was tough as I recall) how many months does Karadoon think we have before venturing out would be too dangerous for our tropically acclimated characters?
  9. I think we started that game just prior to COVID, but I can't be sure because OGMW is not taking my old login. I probably forgot the password. But I've been gaming on the weave with Eric and that circle of friends since 2018 I think. That game has taken some long hiatuses. As did our Stargate game prior to it.
  10. Karadoon Karadoon stood a bit straighter and looked eastward. "The closest of those cities is three hundred miles away, and it is a dead city. The Maliente cities are 500 miles and more. That's an undertaking that requires planning, supplies, maybe even a few scouting trips to find the best routes east... I'm of a mind to warn the rest and debate how to proceed while we do that. Mayhap, moving up the river by boat will be a better choice." Weapon - Combat statsBAB +1 Extra +1 (Brother Koji spell effect) Cutter: +2War Axe D6/D8 (1h/2h)
  11. This would have been great for old man Hinson. The logical part of my mind desires some sort of reason why this would not have been active from character creation. Could we re-skin this to something in your make up let's you develop this ability with intense mental training? It definitely looks like it would help us even the odds.
  12. This nullifier sounds interesting. Is that in the free rules or the full "for purchase" rules?
  13. I've never used SWN/CWN with magic. would it be possible for one of our current PCs to pick some up? Maybe one of our new Drakvian refugees could be an escaped apprentice who would be willing to tutor us?
  14. I feel like our lack of magic is hurting us given the Maliente common use of magic.
  15. Karadoon Karadoon stood a bit straighter and looked eastward. "That far east? It sounds like a scouting mission of several months would be in order. Did the oracle mention any particular Maliente city that might be more important than the others? We should head back to our settlement by the coast. They deserve to know what happened at the outpost. They deserve to know what they face. Aephren and Elladra had a baby born this spring. It would not be right to keep them uninformed." Weapon - Combat statsBAB +1 Extra +1 (Brother Koji spell effect) Cutter: +2War Axe D6/D8 (1h/2h)
  16. Karadoon Karadoon smiled as Iphigenia and the others came up. "It makes you see things differently don't it. There'll be no point in me going down. Done means done for the week. I've seen no sign of pursuit but how do you spot an invisible foe? We have responsibilities and newly accepted refugees to see to. I think it best we move on." Karadoon quickly went to work filling dirt and replacing sod, careful to align the sections and remove what evidence of the digging he could. Weapon - Combat statsBAB +1 Extra +1 (Brother Koji spell effect) Cutter: +2War Axe D6/D8 (1h/2h)
  17. I'm excited to show these guys the oracle. It changed a lot of our thinking. I'm curious to see how they come out. A small pause for me was more than worth it.
  18. Sweet. I really like how we are able build lore within our cultures. This is something I've only seen @Vladim and one other GM do on the weave. But I really like it.
  19. Sort of. I'm talking about the slaying of Isildur, but I'm assuming that in a thousand years of oral retelling all we really have is the broad strokes and some propaganda. I assume from the view point of Mordor that was a great victory. I figure they probably don't mention that he wasn't really running from the battlefield, just from an ambush. So add a thousand years of oral retelling, remove any mention of the One Ring because that is too deep a secret for my people to know, and presto you have a legend you can motivate your Black Uruks and your Hill people with: "The Anduin was a place of a mighty victory long ago. Our people killed one of the first Kings of Gondor, as he tried to flee across it. Got him right in the back with a black arrow. The Anduin belongs to the Orcs! And tonight we kill men there again!" Although Elfwynn could talk the slaying of Oghma, that wouldn't be a motivator for the forces of Mordor. One of their own betrayed the sorcerers and got away with it is bad propaganda. That kind of story you would trot out when you're planning a raid on the Beornings: "3 fat pigs and a barrel of ale to the crew what brings down the traitor when we hit them Beornings tonight. You'll recognize him easy enough... He carries a Long Bearded Axe like the Hill people make.... He's the one what killed Oghma. Took the chief's head to old Beorn as a present. Don't you worry about the Bear Lord though... scouts say he is a day away holding court at some village. He won't be back until it's too late for the traitor."
  20. Dahr-Ol of the Beornings A thoroughly miserable Dahr-Ol lay on the stretcher, lay in the boat, or limped along as he could within a day or two. He noted Barin's marker for the old man. It was a thing worth doing. "Cecil, help me down to the river, we should do the same for the man, Walar. Mayhap one of his kin will wander by here. Perhaps we can convince Gramtyng to scratch Walar's name and the fact that his death was avenged on the stone...." he wheezed Axe stats: Damage 9/Edge 10/Injury 20 Elfwynn was quiet during the retreat up the river and payed careful attention to the far shores of the river. Even on the island her spear was always at hand. She moved with a limp, and more slowly to be sure. But never without her weapon. "The orcs drove the river folk from this isle. We should not consider it a long term refuge. The sorcerers often tell a tale about this river. They claim to have slain a mighty king of men who fled a battle. I've no idea how true it is. The orcs will fear the reaving we did. But their masters will desire to relive an old glory."
  21. Karadoon Karadoon smiled as Iphigenia finally went down the rope. Both of them were stubborn. Leaning over he called after her, "Try not to let the fake storm dizzy your senses! I heard tell sailors are proud of how they weather a real storm!" Weapon - Combat statsBAB +1 Extra +1 (Brother Koji spell effect) Cutter: +2War Axe D6/D8 (1h/2h)
  22. I'm curious how much Dahr-Ol might know about the Snaga vs the Black Uruk. Is the Snaga actually tracking by scent? Is the Black Uruk definitely a Mordor orc? Those two questions specifically. it certainly does capture the mood though.
