About This Game

I will be running various LIVE One Shots on the Discord server. Most of them will be in DnD5e, but I may do some SWN, WWN, or other systems as we go along. The plan is to give 1-2 weeks notice before I run a game, and do it on a fairly regular basis. (Probably 1 a month or so?) I will advertise these games in the ad section of MWOG, and have a very simply application process.

Detailed Description

This is a live one-shot on the MW Discord!

This time around I will be running a 5e adventure called Shore of Dreams.

Premise

This adventure is designed for 3-5 3rd-level players, and it is meant to last 4-6 hours. Two children from the town have gone missing, and no one can expect the results when a group of concerned adventurers looks for them. Quickly rising stakes, awe-inspiring sceneries, against-the-odds combat, and a crab boss monster with unique mechanics make this 3rd-level one-shot a great challenge.

When: The One-shot will be run Saturday 8/26/23 @ 6PM EST

  1. What's new in this game
  2.   I love a good puzzle or mystery   Name: Arlen Darkmoon Race: Half-Elf Gender: Alignment: Lawful Neutral Background: Investigator Class: Bard Archetype: College of Lore
  3. Brother Ennil Male Tiefling Warlock (Celestial) Hermit (Monk) Brother Ennil is a Tiefling of mostly human stock. He has a human's basic body form, with human hands and feet. Under his clothes are tufts of fur at joints, but it is rare for strangers to see anything more than perhaps those at his wrists. His face bears more obvious changes from his infernal heritage, with two curling horns, unusually large black eyes, and long goat's ears. He looks perpetually tired, dark circles around his eyes, that remain even when he gets the best of rest. Ennil wears rough brown robes of a monk with simple cotton clothes beneath. He carries a staff with him, stout enough for walking or bonking, the length carved with both religious and arcane runes, which he uses to channel the energy of his patron. Ennil lives in tension. His tiefling nature, his family's curse, comes with the fell influence of demonic connections, and for that reason all of his bloodline who show signs of the curse are sent away to live in seclusion, meditation, and prayer. Ennil has balanced these dark urges with the influence of his patron, 713 The Wise Hand Culls The Unworthy From The Garden, a Celestial being of mysterious nature. Her influence balances out the ill, and allow him to go out into the world to do good acts in Her name.
  4. Oh I know they don't have to be! But the character I wanted to make is!
  5. Warforged don't have to be barbarians. Imagine a wizard warforged who through a magical mishap ended up in the warforged body. Or a cleric of Gond the wonderbringer. God of inventions.
  6. Slog I don't wanna do anything that would give me an unfair advantage, but I was looking at doing a Warforged. Would that be 1. Okay, and 2. Not be unfair given they don't need to breathe? Edit: Whup, nevermind, we already have a Barbarian. Back to the drawing board!
  7. Okay, I think Mog and his best friend and lucky charm, Wally the walnut are ready to go.
  8. 80 gp is fine. It gives me enough to buy him some scale mail armor and get his AC up a little bit. Unfortunately that will only leave him with 30 gp left, so no healing potion. 😥
  9. Max starting gold for your class plus starting packages. but you picked a barb so...still broke
  10. That's cool. But starting for a barbarian does not include armor and was thinking he might want armor with his Dex and Con only having +2 bonuses. I am sure I could get him better than a 14 AC.
  11. There was last time, but you won't have as much money this time? Remember last time we were like level 8 or something. I will get you gold today though.
  12. I could have sworn there was something on here about starting equipment/money and a list of magic items we could buy with starting money. But I can't find it now? Am I going insane?
  13. We using average hit points for levels after 1st or are we rolling for them?

  16. Character Name: Mog Race: Stout Halfling Class: Barbarian (Path of the Giant) Description: Although he stands only 3 feet tall and most people could pick him up and throw him, Mog has a fairly scary appearance. He has several scars across his face and even more hidden under his floppy, wild, brown hair. The scars tend to make it difficult for others to know if he is smiling, frowning or something else, as they have twisted his lips and cheeks into a permanent scowl. The largest scar runs from his jaw on the left side, up along his nose, which has obviously been broken, up between his eyes and disappears into his hair. It is normally a lighter color than his tanned skin, but when he is angry it turns red. He dresses in plain traveler‘s clothes with a longsword and javelins strapped to his back and a couple of hand axes hanging from his belt. His eyes have a dull brown color to them and unless fighting he acts more like a little child that wants to look at everything and explore everywhere. Which can lead to trouble. Personality:  Mog is a child when it comes to mental capacity. Every since the injury to his head, that nearly killed him, he has acted more like a child than an adult. Unless he is angered and then, even though small, he makes a scary site and fights with hard earned skill. He tends not to go into populated areas without a friend to help guide him and keep him out of trouble. He prefers wide open wilderness to civilization. Part of that is he gets picked on and sometimes taunted once people see how stupid he is. (Of course some of the picking comes from him walking around a talking to Wally, his best friend, a rather large walnut upon which the grains have formed a face.) And part is his childlike fear of being lost in a large town or city. A typical childlike fear. He likes to use his cantrip to entertain himself and possibly even other children, or to pester someone in a childlike manner, for the most part. But if he is feeling ignored or wants people to leave him alone then he uses the cantrip to make himself a lot louder and yells at them. My thoughts are that he will be a good friend with one or more of the party and he follows their lead trusting them to understand things he cannot.
  17. Arulia                Character Name: Arulia Character Sheet: Arulia Race: Human (Variant Human) Class: Sorcerer (Divine Soul) Description: Arulia often looks like she is focusing on whatever has caught her attention.  Her speech and manner are direct and she is firm with others. She has a powerful build. Her eyes are brown, skin is tanned, and hair is blonde. Her skin bears several tattoos in white ink, which indicate ranking in her order. Personality: Arulia is a quiet type.  Guarded, even.  She is practically-minded and perceptive, but has been known to be distrustful of others who do not see eye-to-eye with her and even judgemental. But, she is pragmatic, knowing better than to "stir the pot" too much. "Much like an imperfect stew, even a fool will serve, if not for the good then as a lesson." 18. Str: Dex: Con: Int: Wis: Cha: Racial: +1 Dex, +1 Int, +2 Cha Str: 13, Dex: 16, Con: 14, Int: 15, Wis: 14, Cha: 16 Traits Age: Half-elves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 180 years. Size: Half-elves are about the same size as humans, ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium. Darkvision: Thanks to your elf blood, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep. Skill Versatility: You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice. Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common, Elvish, and one extra language of your choice.

  20. This will be a different process than most game applications.  Please just make a post in this thread with the following.  Remember this is a one-shot so I don't need novels, looking for people excited to play!  As we get closer to the game date, I will be asking for an MW-created sheet from those accepted.     Either a 27-point buy or 4d6 drop lowest you can roll in your post.  Standard creation rules.     Max HP Max starting gold for your class plus starting packages. LEVEL- 3   Character Name: Race: Class: Description: Personality:
  21. Character Name: Dapperling Race: Goblin Class: Druid (Circle of Spores) Description: Dapperling is a middle-aged goblin (so far as you can tell). Their skin has the deep green of a goblin who knows the daylight sun, thick and slightly craggy. They wear a patchwork garment, equal parts robe and coat and cloak, with thick braiding of leather and wood in panels over the chest and upper arms. They smell noticeably earthy, not entirely unpleasant, like damp earth full of life. Personality: Dapperling lives every day with the certainty of death and life and death once more. They are a Druid of the Spores, of the quiet life between plants and animals that will eat them all only to be eaten in turn. This has lent them a certain quiet pragmatism which is amplified by their self sufficiency. Some places don't like goblins, and some places especially don't like being reminded of their mortality by weird little goblins. No matter. Whether in a bed at the inn and roast chicken or a cold blanket under a bush and a handful of berries, they will be up and on the next day, spreading spores and seeing to the balance of things as they see fit.
  22. Character Name: Enigma ("The Enigmatic One") Character Sheet Race: Human Class: Warlock of the Celestial 6     Description: "Enigma", as she is called, has been described more than once as looking "flamboyantly determined", "ready to tackle whatever comes her way even in a dead sleep".  She is only slightly below the average height for most humans, wears her dark hair up and in a bun, and has brown eyes. She is accompanied at all times by a crow she calls "Lewis Jingles". Personality: "Enigma", as she is called, is a gregarious sort among adventurers, and seems to live by what she calls "The Golden Rule".  At least, so long as they are not brandishing weapons or screaming at her.  She is measured in her actions, does her best to good by her patron with her deeds, and seems to highly value creativity.
  23. Character Name: Lucian Galanodel Race: Pallid Elf Class: Monk (Kensai) Description: Lucian is of average height for an elf, but is even scrawnier then normal. He wears finely made clothes, green with golden embroidery. The gold almost matches his hair and the green of the outfit is only slightly darker than the green of his eyes. His hair falls down to about the middle of his back and is well kept and hangs freely. He has a Rapier and dagger at his belt and a longbow and quiver on his back and looks like that is about all he could carry. He walks using a staff to help himself stay upright. Personality:  Lucian is not your typical spoiled rich kid. He is spoiled in that he loves the finer things in life. However he was taught to respect all people no matter their status in the world. The two things sometimes collide. For instance going into a bar he might scowl at what he sees as the filth in the place. He would take out a cloth and wipe off the seat and table before he sat down. To him he is only trying to keep his clothes clean. To the innkeeper it could be taken as an insult. He does his best not to intentionally insult anyone and is willing to apologize if he accidentally insults someone. But is wise enough to know when someone is using this to try and bully him. As far as why he is adventuring, it is a mixture of boredom, a desire to see new places and his desire to help and protect those who can't help themselves. And of course, he has to earn the money he needs to keep himself living at the level he has become accustomed to.
