The Ruins of our Fathers
There are many worldbuilding games, but this one is mine.
The ruleset called Microscope will be used to develop a post-apocalyptic world and it's eventful timeline. We're also looking to evaluate what does and does not work with Microscope's core ruleset while playing in a Play-by-Post setting.
If at the end of this game run we have a world that the players would like to invest in through other gameplay, we'll open up threads and continue to tell the story of this world.

AEGIS, SHIELD, and BLACK BOOK: Earth's Defenders?
AEGIS was formed the day of the Roswell Incident in 1947 to defend the United States, Humanity, and the Earth from all enemies, Foreign, Domestic, and Extraterrestrial.
The National Defense Directorate ("The Black Book") was formed the day of the Roswell Incident in 1947 to keep secure the United States from all enemies Foreign, Domestic, and Extraterrestrial by Any Means Necessary.
The Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division (SHIELD) was formed in 1953 from the Allies' Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) that had itself been formed in 1939. SHIELD's mission is to defend Humanity and Earth from major Threats To The Peace (T3P), both Terrestrial and Extraterrestrial in origin.
The year is 2024. Saurians are getting antsy, the Reticulans are making moves, the Atlanteans are interfering more than usual, and then there's the new stuff SHIELD tends to handle overseas.
This is using the Conspiracy X 1.0 ruleset, although there are considerable modifications, especially to Character Generation.

About the Game:
- This will be a "light on the rules" game, it will be more focused on interpretation rather than rules;
- As usual, the narrator word is final, you may ask and argue but don't start a fight. (even though i'm not a tyrant, sometimes some things need to be settled);
- This is a cooperative effort to play a nice game for everybody (narrator and players).- This game will be highly inter-creatures, even though pcs will all be kindred expect to meet mages, werewolves, beasts and more.- This game has a cartoonish/cliche gothic 90s/early 2000s look, but the idea is to have a somewhat mature plot.About Me:- I've been playing and narrating NWoD for over 10 years now, and my favorite line of games is Vampire the Requiem, might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer it over VtM (even though I love VtM). I'm not a rules advocate and generally go by the rule of cool, and as long as what is going on is fun, I'm 100% into it!

This is a 9th level gestalt 3.5e game with quite a few house rules, which you should skim first to see you find them palatable and then read in detail as you work on your character. See the character creation rules, and subscribe to the Announcements thread. Once your character thread is reasonably complete, head over to The Purple Dolphin Inn for a pre-game IC that will help me decide if I like the things you post; after your character checks in with the First Mate, you'll get a private interview with the Captain.
Game closes to new applications at the end of the official application period. Players who have created a character thread by that time will have time to complete their applications and engage in the required pre-game IC.

Dynasty: Endless Venture 49!!
The original Dynasty was a staple franchise of the 00's. It was a 3d MMO with Roguelike elements and procedural dungeons and a solid following. It went through several editions and major updates but the servers went offline in 2015. Things have been quiet for a while but rumors of a modern update have been swirling for the last couple of years.
Today you got your Willie Wonka Golden Ticket. You received a login code and link for a beta test for fans of the game. This is the final beta before wide release and is supposed to be free of gaming journos. The betas have been closely guarded and there have suspiciously been no leaks. People speculate that it's a bad game that they don't want it known before people start putting up money for it, but the videos released for the game have been beyond spectacular. While it's possible it's another Cyberpunk 2077, it doesn't matter because you're about to find out and for free. You have an interface to generate a character and a countdown clock for when the servers go live. The question is, what kind of Living Adventure are you going to have before the MMO gets flooded by the unwashed masses?

Transdimensional Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: After the Bomb 1666 - The Fountain of Youth and the Lost City of El Dorado
It's the year 1850 -- the War for the West has commenced in earnest.
It's difficult to understand quite how terrible the coming war for the open plains of Northern Laurasia will be without a bit of historical context. You see, the strange world of Ehrth is both like and unlike our own world...
In the distant past, during the Devonian Period (419-359 million years ago), the world was ruled by a highly advanced 'Silurian' civilization of reptoids that, it is believed by modern archeologists who have studied their legacy, traveled to other worlds and dimensions. Some researchers even believe the Silurians to have originated on Mars.
Alongside the Silurians, the remains of a prehistoric civilization of intelligent and highly advanced synapsids (a clade of prehistoric vertebrates that combined mammalian and reptilian features, the most well known representative of which was the sail-backed Dimetrodon) have also been discovered in the extensive network of tunnels which lie deep beneath the Antarctic -- these creatures apparently referred to themselves as the Khor (also spelled Khorr/Khoor/Khar/Khaur/Khaar), and they may have journeyed to Ehrth from the Sun.
Whatever the truth, the vast and long-lived civilizations of the Silurians and Khor fell in great disasters, but their legacy was taken up by the Empire of Atlantis in the 'time before history'. The Atlanteans colonized every corner of the globe, and also pioneered the use of gene-editing alchemy to create the first mutant animals -- walking, talking fauna that lived alongside, and sometimes in conflict with, their human creators.
The Atlantean legacy was revived by the ancient Greeks, who handed on this legacy to the Romans, and then to subsequent civilizations. As a consequence, the world of Ehrth has consistently enjoyed a comparative level of technology roughly three centuries advanced beyond that of our own Earth, though this technology has an occult flavor based on the Silurian and Khor legacy upon which it was established -- alchemical processes and 'philosopher stone' engines, black Vril-energy machines, ethererum-powered ornithopters, and so forth.
Nothing seems to have gone quite right in the world of Ehrth since the Gotterdammerung, a 1 teraton Ethereum Nuke, was detonated over the Princely States of Germania, specifically the Rattenreich 'throne city' of Kroenigsburg, at the close of the 30 Years War. The perpetrators of this dreadful deed remain unknown, but its effects are undeniable. The Central Plain of Europa was transformed into a polluted wasteland of blast-riven cities populated by mutants and the living dead. The mutated Kommandants of the Rattenreich of Prussien now command vast legions of zombies and mutants as they strive against their fellow warlords and the other powers of Europa for mastery of the lands of their once flourishing empire.
At the same time the Gotterdammerung was detonated, the lands of Ehrth,from distant Nippon to the Dominions of New England, endured a strange phenomenon known as the Three Days of Darkness, where the sun failed to rise for a fearful 72 hours. Mysteriously, some portions of the globe experienced this event as Seven Days of Darkness. Since that day, the world has been plagued by increased demonic activities. Reports of encounters with ancient cryptids and supernatural terrors have also become more frequent.
Alongside the Three Days of Darkness, the despoiling of Central Europa, and the re-emergence of the leylines, a mysterious illness killed off 99.9% of the human population. The world now belongs to the mutant animals, and has for roughly two and a half centuries. These four great cataclysms -- the bomb, the rifts, and the days of darkness, and the great plague, were also followed by the opening of the 'gates' -- the openings in the continental icewall that surrounds the central territories of Ehrth into the Outer Seas. Atlantis and Atilla, along with other lost continents such as Mu, Thule, Hyperboria, and Lemuria, were all rediscovered or re-arisen.
Now, the malign forces of Hades and Dyval, two infernal dimensions with designs upon Ehrth, both seek to make new inroads in this age. The 'Dominions of New England', a confederacy of mutant animals which dominates the Northeastern and central Atlantic coast of Northern Laurentia, is, in particular, riven by the influence of these two infernal powers...
Got that? Let's return to the 1850s -- several centuries of mutant animal rule have done little to alleviate the warlike tendencies of civilization. Tensions between the Glimmering Confederacy of the Golden Triangle, a vicious compact of slaving city-states and their dependencies, and the technologically-inclined Dominions of New England are quickly escalating. A war between these two powers of Eastern Laurasia is expected in the next 1-2 decades. The Capetian Dominions, still united closely with the Napoleonic Empire of New France, wait patiently on the sidelines for their opportunity to take advantage of the conflict. To the West, tribes of the Great Plains seek to fend off advances from the Republics of Monte Rey, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Baha, and Houston to the south, and the 'Mormonite' colonists of the Great Salt Basin. The quickly-multiplying tendrils of the seemingly endless rail tracks laid the great Locomotive Guilds of the Dominions of New England throughout the Western plains of Northern Laurasia threaten to consume the heretofore pristine lands of the Great Prairie...
Ah -- the Glimmering Confederacy of the Golden Triangle, also known as the Empire of Agony. This cruel, avaricious realm, whose power was built up upon the whip-stricken backs of its legions of enslaved magic-users and elementals, is now facing a surprisingly tenacious revolt within its Mesoamerican territories. Rumors abound that the ancient powers of Aztlan -- the blood-soaked realm of the camazotzt, the mutant animal vampire-bats who once ruled this region -- seek to take advantage of the new disunity and reassert their power, rising from their places of refuge in the deep earth. Other reports herald that the fabled Fountain of Youth has been located -- the brightest jewel of Moctezuma's lost treasury held in the fabled glistening city of El Dorado. If either the sanguinomancers of Aztlan, or the psionic slavers of the Golden Circle were to locate the Fountain, the fallout could lead to the conquest of the entire continent by one of these baneful powers.
Enterprising heroes with a talent for subterfuge are needed to infiltrate the mysteries of the Valley of Mexico, rendezvous with the sore-beset cells of the revolution, and keep the power of the fabled lost city from the hands of evil doers.
Greetings fellow mythweavers. I'd like to try to run a game I had in mind for the Palladium system in a slightly simpler rpg engine -- the open d6 system: https://ogc.rpglibrary.org/index.php?title=OpenD6. All the rules are completely free. I listed the game as 'mini D6' because open d6 was not an option.
The basic game mechanism is relatively simple -- you have a pool of d6s and you roll them against a target number. One dice in the pool is a 'wild dice' which can have additional effects like in Savage Worlds. The dice can explode. There are attributes and skills and powers, but no classes. Progression is essentially getting more dice for the pools. There is a lot of room for homebrewing/customization in this system. I'd imagine having a long list of abilities and skills and access to a number of powers to try to model the diversity of character options in other systems. However, even if the character sheets are long, the underlying system is extremely simple and it actually shouldn't take a long time to make a character -- mostly just assigning 3D, 4D, 5D to ability and skill pools and picking some equipment and powers out of the magic book. In the world of Ossenheim, the veil between life and death is gossamer thin. Necromancy is not reviled here, but seen as a venerable art that honors the dead. Under the blessing of Revenor, the Skeleton King and Lord of the Dead, practiced necromancers ritualistically bind willing spirits to their preserved mortal remains. These undead, called revenants, retain their living memories and personality. They serve their descendants as revered ancestral guardians and guides.
Families keep the bones of their ancestors in crypts and mausoleums, awaiting the time when a necromancer may come to awaken their forebears. Though unnatural in strength and tirelessness, revenants are not mindless zombies. Rather, they are held to their purpose by magical contracts and familial piety. Most citizens of Ossenheim see their undead ancestors as a continuity with the past, not an abomination.
Balance is maintained between the realms of life and death by Ossenheim's pantheon of gods. Vita the Maiden nurtures the living while Revenor shepherds the dead. Mystic Mortus reads the unseen threads of destiny that govern both. Wise Lathos keeps records of history and ritual so that new generations of necromancers can safely follow their art. Caelo the Ever-Changing brings the seasons that shift the veil between realms with her storms and mists. And over all looms Tempus, measuring out every mortal life and unlife with his eternal scales.
Here in Ossenheim, time and tradition have reconciled mortality's impermanence with the enduring influence of ancestors. The customs of this land allow the bones of the past to support the present, and the present to honor the past in turn. Death is but the continuation of life's duties by other means.

The City of Mithril is a port metropolis built around the base of a colossal golem of purest Mithril. It is a city dedicated largely to the golem's crafter, the god of blacksmiths and paladins Corean. All is not well in this city, hardly surprising for a port city on a Blood Sea coast!

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight
The traveling extravaganza known as the Witchlight Carnival visits your world once every eight years. You have a dim memory of sneaking into the carnival as a child without paying for a ticket. That memory has grown foggy over time, though it still conjures a weird admixture of emotions—wonder and awe mixed with loss and regret. During this childhood visit, your character lost something. You tried to find it, but the carnival owners—a pair of elves named Mister Witch and Mister Light—were decidedly unhelpful.
"Silly little screeching cricket," said Witch. "You forgot to buy a ticket."
"The carnival goes round and round," said Light. "The multiverse is our playground. Nothing's free and nothing's lost. Every visit has its cost."
As time passed, your heart became less heavy, and you gave less and less thought to those childhood events. Now, for reasons you can't explain, the longing to retrieve that which you have lost has resurfaced, as though an old spell has faded away, allowing you to feel the loss as sharply as if it happened yesterday.
The Witchlight Carnival has returned, and you find yourself standing near a ticket booth by the entrance at twilight, just as the carnival is about to open. There you meet others who look as troubled as you. Without knowing how or why, you sense that each of them has lost something as well. Perhaps fate has brought you together.

Welcome! You are adventurers, seeking a Swords Company in good standing with the Society of the Occult; to be paid in coin and privilege to defend the Baruch Empire against the monsters and horrors that stalk the shadows. It is a dangerous life and magic, when it is available, is rare, expensive, and always ends in madness and fire. In short, the profession is hardly worth the trouble.
Most do the job out of desperation or because of a personal grievance against a monster. At least they will save their family the coin from buying a grave and paying the coroner. A few others of the richer folk help for sport and adventure; which is healthy for the crown. We need fewer noble mouths wasting food and spewing hot air anyway. Very rarely though, you will find heroes who smile as they grab the yoke of the world and steer it towards brighter shores. I wonder, what is your reason for joining this band of adventurers?

AEGIS, SHIELD, and BLACK BOOK: Who is Protecting Earth?
The Party will be a cell of AEGIS Operatives, well-supported, and of moderate rank in AEGIS.
This a world that draws from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, up to Avengers: End Game, starting in 2012 before the Battle of New York City forces SHIELD Director Nick Fury to fully reveal the Avengers to the public.
The Party can expect interaction with both Black Book (their traditional conspiracy opposite number) and SHIELD, as well as various potential points to guide Black Book and SHIELD to interact with each other.
A book is not required, I have posted modified Character Creation Rules in the forum.

Once upon a time, before knights fought with demons, before battle, before war, and before the sun, there was a great city atop the world. Built of ice and starlight, full of elegant palaces,shimmering statues, it was home to a people whose splendor we are not given to understand. Clad in starlight and snowflakes, they lived a life of bliss, eating thin delicacies, toasting each other with wine made from the night, and loving each other like the sea beneath the ice. They named their city Polaris.
One and one they saw it, only fleeting and irregular, that light coming up from the edge of the sky, colors redder than stars, new shades that had never been sees, yellow and green and golden through icicle walls, burning out the stars from the sky, brilliant and impossible and beautiful and alien.
At first it was thought to be madness, that particular sort of gentle madness, for it struck at the very best of them., and those that are the very best are shrouded in cloth and the dark heart of dreams. But if it was madness, it was a madness that spread, for more people saw, and more, so that by the time it reached the highest it had already been given a name: Dawn.
This obsession with the Dawn led to the Mistake. No one knows the truth, but everyone knows that before the Mistake, their city was perfect, their sky was dark, and the people had no fear, and that now their city is left a smoking crater, their sky is lit by the brilliant sun and haunted by a ghostly moon, and the people have learned horror, terror, and the thousand other ravages of time.
The first thing that was seen after the Mistake was the fiery sun, emerging from the dawn like a terrified scream, blinding all that saw it and burning all that it saw, deafening all that were held in its radiance. Face off against celestials and demons of all walks of life, and you may survive to fight the true winner of the battle ahead. Ironfang Invasion
It's a 2e conversion of the Ironfang Invasion Adventure Path!
The Rules topic includes some houserules, common rule interpretations, and special PbP rules.
The Characters topic is where you can find specific character building rules, ask questions, and is where you should make your application threads.
The Codex topic contains maps, NPCs, and things you discover along the way. It will be filled in as we progress.
Make a character app and ask for review when you're ready. I plan to handle this game mainly through BLDR, with an OOC channel here and another on discord. I might try the google slides method or something to let you guys move your tokens and simplify map updates, or I might stick with my method of moving pawns around in gimp based on your posts.
Looking for players willing to commit to a game for the long term. I can usually post enough to keep up with the party. Sometimes that's multiple in a day, sometimes that's 1/week. It's really up to the party, but I prefer 3-5 DM posts/week of varying size.
Apps close on Feb 21, though I'll give a couple days after to get things finished up if needed while I make final selections. I'll probably go with a party of 5, or I may think about running two parties of 3-4. I'm contemplating keeping everyone in a common world, and streamlining some of the minor encounters by splitting them between parties. Not sure if that'll work with larger encounters though, and I'm open to discussion as we go. Could be fun to mix and match so the group can morph over time to fit post rates and personalities.

The Hulk in Quazai-Space [WIP]
In this game, we'll be attempting to create a Science-Fantasy Setting where genre mashing is the norm, and character progression revolves around room exploration, maintaining a full party, and murdering your favorite recognizable monsters from your favorite Sci-Fi and Fantasy universes. It takes place on a "Hulk in Quazi-Space," an interdimensional ship-like asteroid and nigh-unending catacomb of sci-fi and fantasy rooms and hallways, ranging from from hangars in a space ship, to brigs on a Caravel, to grand stone cathedrals. The game's primary mechanics involve managing hunger and thirst, ammunition, tools, inventory space, party control, and (mostly ranged) combat.
This is more or less a proof of concept attempt. We will be attempting to clear 1 section (2d6 rooms) and holding it. We're testing XP progression, exploration, ease of firearm combat, and faction management first and foremost.

The Borderlands
New PBP GM, looking for mix of new and old PBP players. Perhaps even an experienced GM advisor if someone is willing! The Applications tab has more information about creating characters for this game.
The Borderlands doesn't aim to tell any specific story, but we will tell a story by the end of it (if I've done my job right).
This is a player-driven open-world adventure. My goal is to learn how to work the Play-By-Post system, and provide an enjoyable space to learn!
Using the DnD5e ruleset, I will be building out adventure scenarios for the players to deal with. I prefer to avoid pre-writing tons of plot in favor of building an interesting story collaboratively with the players. I prefer to have the players take agency, and the world with act and react.
